Meet the Carters

Carter’s Family Childcare is proud of the stability, innovation, and quality that we have brought to the early childhood education of San Diego children for more than five (5) years. One of the great challenges facing low-income families is finding quality childcare for their children. At Carter’s Family Childcare we give the peace of mind that allows parents to work while knowing their children are well taken care of and on the right path for subsequent success in their educational careers. Carter’s Family Childcare offers a wide range of constructive experiences for children ages birth through five, provides a competent and caring staff, and has access to a variety of support services available to parents. Parent participation plays a large role in our programs because we recognize that the family has the most influence on a child's growth and ability to learn. Our Family Childcare operates on a nondiscriminatory basis and does not base enrollment on race, age, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability or veteran status. The first months and years of a child’s life are the most formative in development of mind, body, and spirit. Sleep, emotional and physical nourishment, and sensory stimulation are more important in infancy than at any other time. The most vital need for these youngest children is warm, nurturing care from the adults they depend on. We must also provide them with secure surroundings, and equipment and playthings that meet their needs and support their individual development.

Why Choose Us for Your Child Care Needs

Choosing an appropriate family child care facility for your infant or young child can seem or get overwhelming. As a parent, it is your responsibility to ensure that your child is safe and happy in a child care environment that is fun, educational, and nurturing. Here are some ways we qualify in helping you to make these important decisions. At Carter’s Family Child Care, our family's own values and emotional needs also come into play. Some parents are overly anxious about leaving their very young child with one person, while others prefer this individual care. But by age 3 or 4, it's good for your child to have at least some exposure to other kids and participate in a structured program like preschool or daycare.

• Is welcoming to children

Carter’s Family Child Care

& Early Learning Academy

As a mother of two beautiful children, I strongly believe that a quality child care service will offer your child a reasonable amount of stimulation and nurturing in a learning environment. This would help to prepare children for school and also to reach his or her full potential. I also believe that quality child care service would offer learning environments that far exceed minimum standards set by the state. These learning environments such as Nature/Science, Home Living Center, Arts/Crafts Center, Reading Center, Computer Center, etc. would help to stimulate your child to thrive mentally, socially, emotionally and physically.

At Carter’s Family Child Care & Early Learning Academy, we offer Small group sizes and our adult-to-child ratios encourage the best learning opportunities for your child’s growth and development. Our management and staff all have experiences and education in early childhood development. Our learning materials and teaching styles are age-appropriate and respectful of children’s cultural and ethnic heritage. We are continuously offering opportunities for parents to get involve meaningfully as well as learning opportunities that promote your child’s success in school.

We are currently participating in accrediting programs offered by the YMCA Child Care Initiative Program.
